Congratulations to SCIC cochlear implant recipient Sir Jack Brabhamz who joins Clive Palmer, Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton-John and on a list of seven new National Living Treasures.
Science guru Dr Karl Kruszelnicki is also on the list, along with naturalist and conservationist Dr Harry Butler and creator of the cervical vaccine, Professor Ian Fraser.
SCIC is pleased to have been able to provide Sir Jack with and improved quality of life and wish him all the very best for the future.
Our son Henry is profoundly deaf. This is our story. Our first step is enabling Henry to be hearing. And our second will be to be teaching Henry to use his hearing, to learn to listen so that one day we will be hearing Henry.
The expression ‘life changing’ is bantered about, however this truly has impacted upon our, and most importantly Henry’s, life and set him on an amazing path forward. I truly believe there is nothing he cannot do now. Thank you SCIC.
