Prediction of Outcomes in Adult Cochlear Implant Recipients

The aim of the study is to determine what lifestyle or hearing factors influence how successful an individual will be with a cochlear implant. This is important in the clinical setting, and may improve the clinicians’ ability to make clearer recommendations about expectations after surgery. Findings from this study will provide information about what ‘factors’ are most important in predicting an individual’s likely experience after receiving the cochlear implant.

Participation in this study will involve filling out questionnaires pre-cochlear implantation and at 3 months and 12 months post Switch-On. Pre-paid envelopes will be supplied for the return of the questionnaire pack.
